14 players without clubs in the 2026 World Cup, including an Egyptian and an Algerian sports

While there are still only six cards remaining to qualify for the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, a remarkable file stands out outside the green rectangle, as there are 14 international players who are still linked to their teams, but in return they are without clubs, and they have not decided their destination for next season, in a list that includes big names on the global scene.

Modric…a possible end or final chapter?

Among the most prominent names, Croatian Luka Modric stands out, who was previously crowned with the Ballon d’Or (2018), and who has not yet renewed his contract with Milan.

While the Croatian national team is facing a difficult confrontation against Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, the veteran leader’s position remains open to all possibilities, especially at the age of forty, as the option of retirement has not been ruled out, although there are possibilities to extend his career or have a final experience outside Europe.
