Heavy rain and thundershowers can cause flooding in parts of Västerbotten and Norrbotten.

At the same time, summer heat is expected in large parts of the rest of the country – before the rain returns.

– Many will experience weather every other day this weekend, says Theresé Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI.

SMHI has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain in northern Sweden tomorrow. The warning applies to western Västerbotten county and parts of Norrbotten’s coast and inland.

– These are heavy rain and thundershowers that can bring a lot of rain in a short time. It is mainly during the afternoon a bit into the evening tomorrow, says Theresé Fougman, meteorologist on duty at SMHI.

The rain can cause flooding in, among other things, basements and on roads. On its website, SMHI urges residents to move items in basements that can be damaged by water, and to clean gutters and stormwater wells.

Torrential rain is expected in northern Sweden.

Traffic can be affected by poor visibility and the risk of hydroplaning.

– If you are in Västerbotten, Norrbotten tomorrow and are out on the roads, you have to be extra careful, says Theresé Fougman.

The warning applies between 12 and 8 pm on Saturday. According to SMHI, it is uncertain where the largest amounts of rain will end up.

– We also see rain showers to the west in Norrland, but not as strong as those along the coast.

“Every other day weather” this weekend

In the rest of the country it will be warmer on Saturday. A short-term high pressure is moving in over Götaland and Svealand.

Heat one day.

– There will be temperatures of 20-25 degrees tomorrow in large parts of the country, says Theresé Fougman.

But the heat doesn’t last long. As early as Sunday, a low pressure is expected to move in from Jämtland.

– Many will experience every other day’s weather this weekend. It has rained today, it will be sunny in many places tomorrow and then during Sunday it will rain again.

Rain the other.

The varied weather continues in Svealand and Götaland during the coming week. More stable temperatures may only be at the end of next week.

– Then it looks like it could become more stable in the southern parts of Sweden, with roughly 25 degrees during the day. But it continues to be uncertain in the north with rain showers.
