The crisis team IFK Värnamo is acting.
The coach Srdjan Tufegdzic is fired.
Now Kim Bergstrand is hot to take over, according to Sportbladet’s information.
The spring has been a big disappointment for the Smålänners, who fell out of the Allsvenskan last year.
The Superettan’s next jumbo has six points up to safe ground and now it is clear that Srdjan Tufegdzic will not lead the team from today’s restart for the second part of the season.
– Given that we planned for a longer collaboration together, it is of course disappointing that we did not succeed better in our achievements and results. Srdjan Tufegdzic has, from the day he started at IFK Värnamo, given everything for the association with his commitment, loyalty and professionalism, says sporting director Jörgen Petersson in a statement.
Bergstrand highly topical
For the time being, it is the two assistant coaches Jesper Lövdahl and Juan Robledo who lead the training.
According to information to Sportbladet, Värnamo has discussed Kim Bergstrand, 58, internally, and the former Djurgård coach is highly topical to take over at the club.
Together with Thomas Lagerlöf, 54, Kim Bergstrand won SM gold during his first season with Djurgården in 2019. The duo made the club a stable top contender in the Allsvenskan, but after a weaker trend, the duo was fired in the fall of 2024.
Now they can be pitted against each other in the super league.
Thomas Lagerlöf recently took over Sandvikens IFwhich is tenth in the table.
IFK Värnamo has taken ten points in the opening fourteen matches with a goal difference of -16.
