There was no Swedish ruckus in the F19 EC.
Reigning champions Spain were too tough in the semi-finals.

What was already a tough task in advance became even tougher after just three minutes of the semifinals in the F19-EC. Spain, winners of four straight U19 European Championship golds, took an immediate lead through a dream goal from Alba Cerrato and the Spaniards never let go of the game.
After an hour of play, Rosaliá Domínguez – who also assisted the first goal – extended the lead with a beautiful long shot and soon after Ainoa Gómez headed in the final score 3-0.

– We are usually good in our own penalty area but miss the mark. It’s a shame because we do well in defense, but let go of one or two mistakes we don’t usually make. Then I’m proud of the team that pushes until the last minute. Despite 2-0 and 3-0, we continue to work until the end, says Sweden’s national team captain Briana Campos to SvFF’s website.
Thus, Sweden has to settle for a shared third place in this year’s F19 EC.
– Overall, we have had a great tournament. If we compare with other teams and our conditions where many come directly from the club teams and matches close together, we hold it together and I am impressed by the girls, says Campos.
For Spain, a final awaits on Friday, where they face Germany or Austria.
