Folarin Balogun, 25, was suspended for one game in the World Cup.
Now it is lifted, writes The Athletic.
The USA’s star is thus available in the round of 16 against Belgium.
In the round of 16 against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Balogun received a straight red card after a tackle on Tarik Muharemović.
Thus, the USA’s forward shall be automatically suspended for one match according to Article 10.5 of FIFA’s competition rules.
The Athletic has now spoken to sources with knowledge of the matter and they say the suspension has been lifted.
Has scored three goals
According to Article 27 of Fifa’s disciplinary regulations, “the adjudicating body decides to suspend in whole or in part the execution of a disciplinary sanction.” So that’s what has happened, according to The Athletic’s data.
Balogun has started all but one game for the United States. He scored two goals in the opener against Paraguay and also netted against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
