At least eight people, including four children, were injured in a shooting at Coney Island in Brooklyn late Saturday night local time, reports ABC News.
Police responded at 10 p.m. Saturday to the shooting in the New York borough in connection with the National Day celebration, the New York police said in a statement.
Four children aged six, seven, twelve and 14 were injured. In addition, two women, 25 and 21 years old respectively, and two men, 37 and 33 years old respectively, have been injured.
“All victims were taken to a hospital in the immediate area by paramedics, where seven people are said to be in a stable condition,” the police write, adding that the 21-year-old woman’s condition is critical.
A firearm has been seized but no one has been arrested, according to the police.
