Soccer World Cup for the last time in the Garden?

The Land and Environmental Court of Appeal will not hear the issue of the Garden’s temporary building permit.

This is the announcement after three neighbors complained about the noise level and the decision could mean the end of the popular nightclub in Stockholm.

– We never give up, says Trädgården’s CEO, Jon Birgne to TT.

The dispute concerns the temporary building permit that Trädgården has had since 2009. The area under the Skanstullsbron in Stockholm is actually for port traffic, and it took three neighbors to stand up when they appealed the club’s building permit to the county board, which chose to tear it up.

The decision was then appealed to the Land and Environment Court, which also said no. And today came the next nightmare message for the nightclub when The Land and Environment Court of Appeal announced that they will not review the decision. Despite that, hope lives on with Trädgården’s CEO, Jon Birgne.

– It is sad, but we hope that the politicians will change the detailed plan so that we can continue, he says.

Stockholm city has signed a temporary agreement with Trädgården until 2027 and is investigating the possibility of changing the detailed plan permanently.
