It became uneasy in the stands after Östersund’s 2–0 victory away to Gif Sundsvall.
A fight broke out and an ÖFK player intervened.

The derby between Sundsvall and Östersund ended with a 2–0 victory for the away team. Curtis Edwards made it 1–0 in the 55th minute and Simon Marklund sealed the final score in the 71st minute.
But the headlines are about the events that unfolded after the match.
A fight broke out in the stands. An ÖFK supporter is said to have been beaten by a Gif supporter.
– An ÖFK supporter approaches the players to thank the team after the match. When the support does, he gets punched by a Gif supporter. Then the players run forward and try to get between, says Niclas Lidström, security manager for ÖFK, to Östersunds-Posten.
The player acted
The newspaper reports that the police found the Gif supporter outside the arena and that the supporter who was beaten is said to be “relatively well”.
ÖFK player Abodi Qasem saw what happened and tried to control the fight.
– I only see that there are some fans holding each other and I see that someone is an ÖFK supporter, he says.
– When supporters are acting like that, then of course you have to try to move them on. That was mostly what I was trying to do, to move them so that nothing stupid happened.
After the victory, Östersund is in fifth place in the super league. Sundsvall is last.
