A stand collapsed at the Swedish national team’s training ground for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The runway at Frisco Stadium near Dallas fell onto an area containing a temporary media platform, but no one was hurt, as no training session was taking place at the time.

“They wanted to demolish something, but it seems it went in the wrong direction,” Sweden general manager Stefan Pettersson told Aftonbladet newspaper.

He added: “Fortunately, no one was hurt. They just blew something up wrong.”
Sweden’s national team players noticed the effects of the collapsing stand as they arrived for a training session on Wednesday, but the team’s coach, Graham Potter, confirmed that what happened did not affect Sweden’s preparations to face Japan in the third and final round of the group stage.
