VISBY. The left party in a government would be “dangerous” for Sweden.

But in what way would it be directly dangerous for them to be in the government?
– It is clear to have people who cultivate terror romanticism and who express themselves anti-Semitic also about Jews who live in Sweden. It’s absolutely horrible. I think there are a lot of people in Sweden who would feel very worried if that kind of politics gained influence.
In terms of opinion, it has been slow for The moderatesand within the party, dissatisfaction with the leadership has begun to air.
But Ulf Kristersson feels safe, and does not feel that he feels criticized.
– No, not in the slightest. The state of opinion is quite often tough for sitting governments. Now we have a few months until the election and I am convinced that when both government alternatives are properly examined, when you put a blue-yellow majority government against a red-green government alternative that includes both the Left Party and the Green Party, then a great many voters will think that a blue-yellow government is much safer, says Kristersson.
What do you need to do to lift the party?
– We now have a few months of election campaign ahead of us. We will work hard on this. We will meet a lot of people and we will show the choice of path that Sweden is now facing. I think that will be of great importance.
An attempt to attract voters was presented by the Prime Minister and Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson: A parental deduction that should be able to give families with children at least SEK 500 a month.
Costs six billion
It would cost six billion a year, and the Moderates believe that it would be financed within the framework of the 71 billion the party wants to save on bureaucracy, grants and aid.
Those on sick leave or unemployed will not be helped by the parental allowance, as it would practically function as an employment tax allowance for parents who get to keep more of their salary.
What are you doing to strengthen the economy for the unemployed and those on sick leave?
– There are systems that support the unemployed and those on sick leave as well. They are very important. Now we want to focus on the country’s hard-working and double-working mothers and fathers who take responsibility both for their jobs and for their families.
“Very strange to hear”
Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar does not give much to Ulf Kristersson’s warnings that the party would pose a danger – and referred to the party’s proposal for baby money of 15,000 to all first-time parents.
– There is not much danger with a baby money. On the contrary, I see it as necessary for the children growing up in Sweden today.
This was probably more about him claiming you would be “infiltrated by Islamists” – what’s your take on that?
– It was very strange to hear. I could say a number of things about Ulf Kristersson as well.
– I understand that Ulf Kristersson is very desperate now. It doesn’t look good, no matter how many different things he says. I will stand for the policy that we propose – the baby benefit is an important piece of the puzzle so that all children who grow up in Sweden have equal conditions.
