DALLAS. Graham Potter darkens the starting eleven ahead of the fateful match against Japan.
But the confederation captain hints that there may be changes.
– I have decided that I will say that perhaps will be changes, he says.
Against the Netherlands, Graham Potter did not make any changes to the starting eleven, but after the 5-1 cod the national captain opens up that there might be one or two.
He does not want to reveal more than that before the fateful match.
– Maybe the word is. We have to make a decision that is right for the team. We have talked a lot about how important it is with those who start. We have to have the right balance, but we also have to have players who can come in and help us. We have played two games and won one and lost yet. It’s not all bad. The mood in the team is very good. I am very proud of how the players handled the result last time, he says and continues:
– I have decided that I will say that perhaps will be changes.
Do you know how many there will be?
– I have a good idea of what the starting eleven will look like.
“Must defend better”
During the week, Potter has praised Japan greatly before the match. Wednesday’s PK was no exception.
– Someone just told me that they haven’t lost against a European team in eight years, so it’s not easy. I’m super impressed with them and they know what they want to do. I have a lot of respect and our players are aware of that. We have to use the qualities we have and defend better than the last match, says the national team captain.
The match against Japan is played at 01.00 on the night of Friday.
