In November, Anton Månsson, 37, told me that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
Now he has won the fight in “the most important match of life”.
– You try to think and enjoy a little extra of everything now, he says to Sportbladet.
Ahead of the last season of his career, the middle six received the nightmare message.
He had suffered from lymph node cancer and was forced to abruptly retire from handball to take on what he called “the most important match of his life”.
– It will be a very difficult autumn and spring here. I know that. I brace myself for the worst, at the same time I have no idea what lies ahead, he told Sportbladet after he was diagnosed with cancer.
On Monday evening, he announced, in a joint Instagram post with Ystads IF, that he had won the fight.
“There are victories that mean more than anything else. We are incredibly happy about the news that Anton Månsson is cancer-free after his treatment”, they write.
