Al Jazeera Mubasher cameraman covered the Israeli occupation massacres in Gaza, and formed a field duo with his brother, the martyr Muhammad, before he joined him and was also martyred on June 20, 2026.
Birth and upbringing
He was born in Al-Bureij camp, the youngest of his brothers, Muhammad and Mahmoud, and he was in his mid-twenties when he was martyred.
Practical experience
He worked as a cameraman for Al Jazeera Mubasher, and he formed a media duo with his brother, the martyr Muhammad Wishah. He worked as a photographer for his brother’s reports.
After the martyrdom of his brother Muhammad on April 8, 2026, Ahmed assumed additional responsibilities within his family, as he took care of his martyr brother’s children and followed up on their affairs, in addition to continuing his media work in the field.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent stated that journalist Ahmed Washah, who covered a number of massacres in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli war of genocide (2023-2025), was targeted as part of a series of Israeli attacks that resulted in 10 martyrs and a number of injured.
Assassination
Al Jazeera Mubasher cameraman Ahmed Washah and two other people were martyred in an Israeli bombing of a house in the central Gaza Strip, on June 20, 2026.
Reporter Ghazi Al-Aloul reported that an Israeli march targeted a house in the Bureij refugee camp, resulting in the martyrdom of 3 Palestinians, including our colleague Ahmed, in addition to wounding others.
For its part, Al Jazeera Media Network condemned the assassination by the Israeli occupation forces of Al Jazeera Mubasher cameraman, colleague Ahmed Wishah, denouncing the continuation of these crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against its correspondents and workers in Gaza.
She said that this heinous crime comes two months after the Israeli forces assassinated his brother, our colleague Muhammad Wishah, Al Jazeera’s live correspondent, bringing Ahmed to the constellation of Al Jazeera martyrs in Gaza, who have reached 12 martyrs since October 2023.
The network called on the international community and relevant legal institutions to take urgent practical measures to punish the Israeli officials involved in these heinous crimes, and to adopt deterrent mechanisms to stop targeting journalists.
