CD Projekt Red decided to take a different approach with “The Witcher” games after the great success it achieved in recent years, by offering a free group game that takes place in the same world and is released exclusively on mobile phones and personal computers, according to a report by the British technical site Eurogamer.
The report states that the company is considering launching more than one group game set in the “Witcher” world, because the first game will be paid and bear the code name “Project Sirius,” which the company has been working on for a long time, and it differs from the free game that is issued for phones and personal computers.
The development of these group games coincides with CD Project RED’s preparation to launch a new addition to the game “The Witcher 3,” which was released in 2015 for the first time and has not received any other additions to the story for nearly 10 years.
The company also confirmed earlier that it is working hard to develop the fourth part of the “The Witcher” series, without clarifying whether its events follow the main story or not, so that the company increases the breadth of the “Witcher” world, which includes a group of novels, television series, and even cartoon series and games for various platforms, but what does the free multiplayer game offer?
Diverse environments and different tasks
The game offers a variety of different environments in which monsters appear and you are asked to hunt them through a set of different tasks, according to a separate report from the American “Vice” news website, and it provides an experience that allows players to hunt and search for monsters using the multiple skills that previously appeared in the “Witcher” world.
The game also gives the player the freedom to choose the character he prefers and customize his features and appearance, as well as choosing the method of play by developing the character’s skills and abilities to fall within one of the four famous “Witcher” schools.
The report states that the gameplay will focus a lot on avoiding various attacks and strikes and will reward players for carrying out attacks at the right time.
There are no clear details yet about when the new game will be released, or if it will actually be released for mobile phones and personal computers rather than home platforms.
Arab cooperation in development
The Eurogamer report revealed that CD Project RED is working in cooperation with the development studio Scopely to develop the mobile version of the game.
A previous report indicates that “Scooply” is a mobile game development studio owned by the Saudi gaming investment group “Savvy” and the current owner of “Pokemon Go.”
Although the Eurogamer report confirms the partnership announced in 2025 between CD Project RED and Scoobly, the details of this cooperation are not yet confirmed and may not relate to the game The Witcher, as the official statement of the two companies confirms the existence of cooperation to develop a game that takes place in the world of one of CD Project RED’s titles, which also includes the game “Cyberpunk 2077”.
“The Witcher” game is one of the most famous games developed by the Polish studio and released for computers and home platforms. The first part of it was released in 2007, but the game did not achieve the desired success until 2015 when the third part of the series was released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox platforms, and achieved very wide critical and commercial success.
