The story of Pippi Longstocking continues to fascinate. Soon she will appear in a new animated series, reports Variety.
The series, which is scheduled to begin production in October, is described as a “fresh and modern” version of Pippi.
Behind the production are, among others, Heyday Film, Studiocanal and Astrid Lindgren aktiebolag.
New feature film
They are also developing a feature film about Pippi Longstocking based on Astrid Lingren’s original story.
“Astrid Lindgren’s stories continue to grow their audience around the world and reach new generations of children in different markets, platforms and formats. Pippi Longstocking is still at the center of that journey,” said Max Hallén, CEO of Astrid Lindgren’s limited liability company, in a statement to Variety.
