Thousands of supporters came to a bridge.
They chose to go under it.
Then the police showed up.
Just over 70,000 spectators saw England defeat Croatia in a goal celebration at the Dallas Stadium in Texas.
Afterwards, thousands of supporters would be led away from the arena area via a bridge of the narrower kind.
Then many had enough of the crowding. They chose to take a different path.
The police intervened
Sportbladet’s photographer on the spot captured the event when thousands of people chose detours over waterways, rock piles and concrete ramps.
The fans’ alternative routes were not popular with the police. At one point, several police officers arrived to try to control the whole thing – without success.
The English fans looked to be in good spirits though – certainly a lot thanks to the team’s fine start to the Championship.
