The School Authority in Henry County, Georgia, said in a statement that Patrick took an entire day to write his first application. After 20 requests, he found a way to speed up writing the application until he wrote the entire application in just 5 minutes.

After approvals began to arrive, Patrick read about Madison Crowl, who obtained a high school diploma in 2024 from the state of Georgia as well. She received approvals from 231 universities and the total value of the scholarships she received amounted to about $15 million. Patrick decided to continue applying to universities in order to break the record.

The School Authority statement indicated that Patrick obtained an advanced academic average, in addition to his athletic activity as a runner.

According to American websites and media, Patrick decided to continue his studies at Knox University in Illinois, noting that he received a scholarship worth $260,000 to cover study expenses within 4 years, which means that he is required to pay $5,000 per semester.

She explained that he would try to obtain other grants to provide the remaining amount.
