They created the iconic “Life is strange” games.
But in five months they will have zero in the account.
Now the French studio Don’t nod is sounding the alarm in its audit report, writes IGN.
The studio’s latest games, including “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage” which is seen as a spiritual successor to “Life is strange”, have not sold well enough to improve the finances and one of the main owners, China’s Tencent, has announced that it does not want to contribute more money.
Don’t nod, which has its headquarters in Paris and another in Montreal, is now in talks with other players about investments or partnerships and is also looking into whether they can release upcoming games earlier
The rights to the “Life is strange” series are owned by the publisher Square Enixwhich left the American studio Deck Nine Games to take over the development of the latest parts.
The announcement about the economy comes at the same time as several studios under Microsoft’s umbrella are at risk of being sold or closed.
