Netherlands and Japan ended their Group of Death encounter in a dramatic 2-2 draw after a thrilling spectacle in the second half. Van Dijk gave Oranje the lead with a clinical header from Gravenberch’s cross before Keito Nakamura equalised for Japan.

Crysencio Summerville restored the Dutch advantage and Ronald Koeman’s side looked to have seen out the result with resolute defending. But in the dying moments, Koki Ogawa’s corner found Daichi Kamada, whose glancing header flew into the net to spark wild celebrations from the Japanese supporters and snatch an unexpected point.
