Denies crime
The Elche player, on the other hand, denies any crime and believes that the sexual actions were done with consent.
Mir is now sentenced to an eight-and-a-half-year prison sentence, while he must pay upwards of 700,000 kroner to the victim. However, the prosecutor requested a ten and a half year prison sentence.
In addition, the 28-year-old must not be within a 500-meter distance of the woman for ten years.
The Chilean goalkeeper Pablo Jara, who is said to be a friend of Mir, is also sentenced in court to two years in prison for having participated in the sexual assaults and causing minor injuries to the victim and violating moral integrity.
The verdict can be appealed.
