Two helicopters collided on Sunday in Brazil, killing all six people on board, including the American musician Oliver Tree, whose name was on the flight manifest, The Associated Press reported, citing local officials.
The Military Fire Department in Rio de Janeiro said one of the helicopters crashed on the parking lot of a car dealership where electric vehicles were parked, setting off a fire, The A.P. reported.
The A.P. said the authorities had not been able to immediately identify the victims of the crash, and it was not immediately clear what caused the collision.
Mr. Tree, 32, had performed in Argentina this month as part of his world tour, The A.P. reported.
On Saturday, Mr. Tree posted a video to his Instagram account in which he appears to be playing soccer in Brazil.
Mr. Tree, a musician from Santa Cruz, Calif., was recognized for his distinctive bowl cut and retro fashion along with his contributions to electronic music.
He is best known for his songs “Life Goes On,” “Miss You” and “Alien Boy.” He has more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Representatives for Mr. Tree did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
