Upon its arrival to the city of Monterrey, the Tunisian national team conducted its first exercises at dawn on Wednesday at the official training field designated by FIFA, in the presence of a respectable audience from the Tunisian community and a number of residents of the city of Monterrey, Mexico.
The Tunisia training did not witness unpleasant surprises for the technical staff led by coach Sabri Lamouchi, as the exercises took place with a full quorum and in a normal format after the long journey that the Eagles underwent, which was exhausting for the players, before arriving in Monterrey last Tuesday.

The first day of the Carthage Eagles’ training witnessed a reception from the governor of the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, who welcomed the Tunisian delegation and wished the Tunisian national team good luck in the World Cup.
He said on the official page of the Tunisian Football Federation: “I am happy to have Tunisia among us. It has an important match on Sunday against the Swedish national team, and then it will play the 1000th match in the history of the World Cup against the Japanese national team.”
For his part, Vice President of the Tunisian Football Federation, Hussein Janeh, responded in the same context, saying: “We are also happy to be among you, and I hope that we will present a participation that will honor Tunisians.”
The two parties exchanged souvenirs, as the governor of Nuevo León received the Tunisian national football team’s shirt that he will wear during the World Cup, while the representative of the Tunisian Federation, Hussein Janeh, received a gift of the famous Mexican hat.
The first training session at the Carthage Eagles camp was attended by a respectable number of fans from the Tunisian community in Mexico and residents of the city of Monterrey, in addition to a large number of children who received special signatures on shirts from teammates of Tunisian star Hannibal Mejbri. The number of attendees in the first session of the Tunisian training sessions was approximately 100 people.
The Tunisia national team is preparing to enter the 2026 World Cup through Group 6, where it will open its matches at dawn on Monday, June 15, against the Swedish national team, before meeting Japan and then the Dutch national team in the last rounds of the group stage.
