More than 22,000 civilians were killed by explosive weapons last year, according to a report by aid agency Norsk Folkehjelp.
“The effect of explosive weapons against civilians is both predictable and preventable,” says Rasmus Weschke of Norsk Folkehjelp in a press release.
“Yet this trend has become entrenched and normalized. We can never normalize the bombing of civilians,” he continues.
According to the report, over half of the deaths can be linked to Israel’s armed forces. In addition, the use of explosive weapons affecting humanitarian aid has increased significantly, which in turn affects people in need of aid.
