The delegation of the Moroccan national football team landed on Wednesday evening (US time) in American territory, in preparation for participation in the 2026 World Cup finals, which are being jointly organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Moroccan platforms and accounts circulated on the “X” website (formerly Twitter) video clips recording the moment the “Atlas Lions” arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport in the American state of New Jersey, where the mission was received by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United States, Youssef Al-Omrani, and the Kingdom’s Consul General in New York, Mohamed Ait Bihi, along with a crowd of members of the Moroccan community who were keen to welcome the players with chants and national flags.

Hakimi promises fans an exciting World Cup journey

In a video clip filmed immediately after leaving the airport, the star and captain of the Moroccan national team, Achraf Hakimi, expressed his great enthusiasm for the launch of the Lions’ journey in the World Cup, stressing his great aspiration to rely on the momentum and broad public support from the Moroccan and Arab community residing in America during the World Cup competitions.

For its part, the official account of the Moroccan national team published on the “X” platform a video clip documenting the official arrival of the delegation to its preparatory residence at the “Pingry” School located in the state of New Jersey, which the technical staff settled in to be the headquarters of the closed preparatory camp before entering the official atmosphere of the World Cup.

The Atlas Lions – ranked seventh in the world in the latest FIFA rankings – will begin their World Cup campaign with an anticipated and fiery confrontation against the Brazilian national team, as part of the third group matches that also includes the teams of Scotland and Haiti, and the dates (US time) are as follows:
