The Qatari Emiri Diwan reported that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call today, Wednesday, from US President Donald Trump, during which the latest developments in the situation in the Middle East region were reviewed.
According to a statement issued by the Amiri Diwan, the call came in light of the political and security developments taking place in the region, and regional and international efforts aimed at reducing escalation and enhancing stability.
The Emir of Qatar stressed “the need to give priority to political and diplomatic solutions, and dialogue between all parties, in a way that contributes to consolidating regional security and stability, and avoiding the region from further tension and escalation.”
The call also addressed “the importance of continuing dialogue paths to address current issues, with an emphasis on preserving the security of maritime navigation and the safety of strategic corridors, and ensuring the smooth flow of supply and energy chains at the global level.”
