A police officer in Skaraborg has made several illegal hits in the police’s internal register. Now he is sentenced to a suspended sentence and loses his job.
The police inspector is sentenced by the Skaraborg district court for 21 cases of data breach. The crimes must have gone on for several years and the man must have produced the information on behalf of another person.
The police deny any crime and claim that the searches were done to help the public, but the court ruled that they were not part of his duties and were therefore illegal, reports SVT Väst.
The police authority’s personnel responsibility board has stated in an opinion that the man will be dismissed from his employment if he is convicted of more than a few cases of data breach.
