Liverpool FC announced that Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah is close to returning to participate with the team in the English Premier League this season, after it turned out that the muscle injury he suffered was not as serious as initially feared.

Salah was forced to leave the field during the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, following an injury that appeared to be in the hamstring muscles, which raised fears of an early end to his season and perhaps a curtain call on his career with the Reds at Anfield, especially with his possible departure approaching at the end of the season.

Liverpool’s statement said: “Liverpool FC confirms that Mohamed Salah is expected to be ready to play again before the end of this season, after confirming that the injury is minor.”

The statement added: “Salah is expected to return to the field before the end of the 2025-2026 season, despite his expected departure from the club this summer.”

In previous statements, Ibrahim Hassan, the Egyptian national team manager, indicated that Salah’s injury might require about four weeks of recovery, which would have meant his absence until the end of the season. However, the English club later clarified that the final diagnosis confirmed that it was just a minor muscle injury.

“Egyptian King”

Mohamed Salah, 33 years old, announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season, after a career full of achievements over nine seasons, during which the team won the Champions League title once in 2019, and the English Premier League twice in 2020 and 2025.

Salah also won many individual awards, such as the best player in the English Premier League, in addition to the Golden Shoe award for the Premier League’s top scorer four times.
