Julián Alvarez, the star of the Spanish football team Atletico Madrid, confirmed that he is doing his best to ignore rumors linking him to a move to Arsenal, England, and Barcelona, Spain.
The name of Alvarez, who won the World Cup in 2022 with the Argentine national team, was linked to moving to the Camp Nou stadium this year, despite repeated denials from Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo of the possibility of his transfer, especially since he is linked to the club under a contract until 2030.

The Argentine player told the Spanish newspaper Marca, “I try not to think about the matter for too long because there is something new that appears every week, new information, and I do not waste my energy on it.”
He added: “Instead, I focus on what we are doing. This is the most important time of the season, and I want to be at my best to help the team and achieve great achievements here.”
Alvarez, the Atletico player, pointed out: “I cannot constantly clarify or deny things. I do not pay attention to what is published on social media because it often turns into a spiral of lies. That is why I do not waste my energy on it, and I save it on the things that matter to me and what I can do to help the team.”
Atletico’s chance to make history
In another context, Alvarez stressed that he and his Atletico teammates will try to write history during the team’s match against Arsenal in the Champions League.
Alvarez explained: “We are having a great season. If we reach the Champions League final, we will have played all the matches of the current season, and this is what we are focusing on. We are performing well as a group, and we want to make history ourselves.”
The Argentine national team star did not have a definitive opinion on whether playing at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the first leg was an advantage or a disadvantage.
