Return of foreign airlines
Last week, the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Qatar announced a gradual return to the operation of foreign airlines to Hamad International Airport in Doha, noting that this decision came after a comprehensive assessment of the situation and in coordination with all relevant authorities in the country, to ensure high levels of readiness and efficiency.
The authority stated that all flights and operational operations “will be conducted in accordance with the highest internationally approved safety and security standards, with the application of all procedures and measures that ensure the protection of travelers and workers in the aviation sector.” The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority stressed that “the safety of everyone comes at the top of its priorities.”
The US-Israeli war on Iran led to the closure or restriction of the use of the airspace of a number of countries, especially in the Gulf, Iraq and Iran, in addition to increasing concerns related to the safety of civil aviation in light of security risks, such as missiles and drones.
Last Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely, hours before the end of the truce he announced about two weeks ago, in order to enable the two countries to continue peace talks, as he put it.
