Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian considered that his country’s main enemy is “America and Zionism,” accusing them of seeking to stir up strife among Muslims, and calling for internal differences to be overcome and not to be revealed at this stage.
In his speech during the Iranian Cabinet meeting, the Iranian President also urged strengthening cooperation between countries in the region, warning that targeting will not be limited to Iran, but may extend to other countries such as Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Pazashkian praised the positions of some neighboring countries, appreciating the cooperation provided by Afghanistan, especially in the water issue, in addition to the cooperation of Pakistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Turkey in confronting what he described as attempts to provoke conflicts, stressing that this coordination contributed to thwarting plans aimed at destabilizing internal stability.
He called for investing in this regional cooperation, warning against being drawn into foreign plans, and calling on the Iranian people to continue support and solidarity, especially in light of the difficult circumstances in which some may lose members of their families.
Pezeshkian stressed that his country continues to manage its internal crises despite the mounting pressures, stressing that the cohesion of the internal front and the role of the people constitute the basic foundation in facing challenges. He said that the full weight and effort falls on the shoulders of those working in the field, considering that the people’s satisfaction in these circumstances is a source of great pride, especially at a time when the world is facing crises extending from Europe to the Americas and Africa.
He pointed out that the management of the situation inside Iran is proceeding in a way that makes citizens not feel the burden of war as expected, attributing this to the efforts of officials, especially governors, ministers and the Ministry of Interior.
Facing external challenges
He explained that the presence of the people in the square was the key to security and creating enthusiasm, stressing that the Iranians have proven that they will not submit to threats or pressure, and that they stand united despite their ethnic and cultural diversity, in the face of what he described as external challenges.
The Iranian President stressed the need to consolidate an internal conviction in the possibility of running the country with pride and dignity, warning that the collapse does not come from external pressures as much as it comes from closed minds and the monopoly of opinion, calling for openness and cooperation instead of imposing a single point of view.
Regarding the economic issue, Pezeshkian called on citizens to participate in managing energy consumption, especially gas, electricity, and fuel, pointing out the importance of not cutting off supplies to the industrial sector. He stressed that the unity and solidarity of the people prevent the imposition of surrender, warning against categorizing society into categories of “us” and “not of us,” stressing that all Iranians stand by their country.
Pezeshkian touched on what he described as “arrogance” in dealing with the region’s issues, criticizing what he considered to be duplicity in describing those defending their lands, and stressing the right of peoples to defend themselves.
The Iranian President stressed that the government will do everything in its power to serve the citizens, calling on the official media to support awareness and cooperation efforts to avoid energy crises in the summer and winter, and to maintain production continuity.
He also expressed his appreciation for the role of the leadership and the armed forces, including the Revolutionary Guards, Basij, army and security forces, praising what he described as their “sacrifices and dedication” in protecting the country.
