A news report said, today, Friday, that the Saudi Al-Nasr Club is considering allowing Al-Shabab striker Abdul Rahman Sofiani to play professionally in a European club next season.

The Saudi Al-Riyadiya newspaper explained that Portuguese Simao Coutinho, Al-Nasr’s sporting director, and his compatriot Jose Semedo, CEO, want Sofiani to transfer to one of the European clubs for a period of no less than a year, after renewing his contract last December for three years, without further details.

It was proposed that Sofiani (18 years old) join the first team, starting with Al-Nasr’s external camp next summer in Portugal.

Sofiani started his career on the clay courts in Al-Kharj, then joined the Al-Kawkab team, before moving to Al-Nasr in 2023.

Brazilian Mario da Silva, coach of the Saudi junior national team, chose the player, and he participated in the Asian Championship, which was organized in Jeddah and Taif at the beginning of the summer, and won the silver medal with Al-Akhdar after losing the final to Uzbekistan.

Sofiani also excelled in the Gulf Cup Under-17 Championship, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, and won the tournament’s best player award.
