Pakistan’s attacks along the border with Afghanistan have left dozens of civilians dead and wounded, the Taliban government in the country says.
Among the victims are several children, says Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid on X.
“We strongly condemn this cowardly attack which we consider to be a crime and a brutal act,” he writes.
Pakistan, through Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, said on Sunday that security forces had carried out attacks along the border with Afghanistan. According to the country, around 20 militiamen are said to have been killed in the attacks directed at hangouts and hideouts for what are called terrorists in the border area.
Pakistan has repeatedly directed attacks against targets in Afghanistan as a result of the conflict that flared up between the countries. The government in Pakistan has, among other things, accused the Afghan Taliban regime of supporting and harboring Pakistani resistance groups.
