The European Committee for Social Rights demands that the Swedish state and Swedish regions create effective access to care for EU migrants, regardless of ethnic origin or residence status.
The committee believes that Sweden has committed several violations of the European social charter.
It believes that vulnerable EU citizens have been treated worse compared to other people who live undocumented and that Sweden charges differently for care.
Most victims identify themselves as Roma, therefore the committee believes that Sweden is also guilty of indirect discrimination on the basis of ethnic affiliation.
