A Turkish fan caught the attention with his strange and terrifying appearance, during his country’s matches against Australia and Paraguay in the fourth group of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This fan appeared on the screens of the channels that own the rights to broadcast World Cup matches around the world, with his dark black skin and bright white beard, in addition to striking makeup on his eyes, arousing the interest of the international press and social networking sites alike.

The Turkish website “Habergo” revealed the identity of this fan, who is called Necdet Ulshurman, known as “Udi Niko.”
He explained that the reason for his appearance in this way is based on a “deep affiliation to his club”, as he is one of the loyal fans of the Besiktas team, as he embodied the colors of his favorite team (black and white) on his face, which is in contrast to his natural appearance in daily life.
As for his nickname, “Udi Niko,” he has been with him for years in football circles in his country, where “Niko” refers to an abbreviation of his real name, “Najdet,” while “Udi” is used in Turkish culture to refer to the oud, in a symbolic reference within his public personality.

The British platform LADbible devoted a large amount of space to photos of Ulsherman, with striking comments, most notably that the black and white colors on his face are reminiscent of “horror movie characters.”
She added jokingly, “Seeing this man staring at you in the stands after his country’s loss to Australia will definitely be a great source of motivation and terror at the same time.”
As for the Argentinian network TYC Sports, it said, “Despite Turkey’s early exit from the World Cup, it left behind one of the most striking stories of the tournament, not on the field, but in the stands.”
She added, “His terrifying appearance hides an absolute love story for the most popular sport on Earth,” referring to his passion for football and his Besiktas team.
The appearance in which Olschermann appeared was not a result of the moment, as he was seen in the same condition in the German stands, encouraging his country’s team during the last European Cup (Euro 2024).
Aside from football, Olsherman is widely known in Türkiye through his work as a jeweler, and he has previously worked in the police force.
After losing to Australia 0-2 and Paraguay 0-1, the Turkish national team will conclude its participation in the current World Cup by facing the United States in the third and final round of Group Four competitions, next Friday, after which Arda Guler’s teammates will return to their country, regardless of the result of the match.
