Several people have been injured in connection with an explosion in a factory in Qatar on Sunday.
The exact number of injured is not known, but is described by local authorities as “several”. A journalist from the AFP news agency testifies that he saw flames and columns of smoke 20 kilometers away.
The incident occurred in connection with the Ras Laffan industrial area, which is a hub for liquefied fossil gas. The explosion is said to have been caused by a “technical incident”.
