Dejan Kulusevski and Emil Holm miss the WC for Sweden, but the Netherlands have suffered significantly more heavy interruptions.
Stars such as Matthijs de Ligt, Xavi Simons and Jurriën Timber were not even selected in the World Cup squad due to injuries and in the USA, Jurriën Timber’s twin brother Quinten has also been injured.
He misses the match against Sweden – which even superstar Frenkie de Jong risks doing. Barcelona’s pass-capable midfielder is unsure of the game, revealed Netherlands national team captain Ronald Koeman at a press conference during the night, Swedish time.

Thousands of fans were forced to evacuate
The erratic American weather continues to play havoc with the World Cup. Around 01.30, Swedish time, a couple of thousand people were evacuated from a fan zone in Houston due to “dangerous weather conditions”.
Near the site, both the Swedish supporter organizations Camp Sweden and Gula väggen had midsummer celebrations. But they managed without any weather problems.
– We had maximum flexibility. We had great weather throughout the midsummer festival. The change of weather came half an hour after we had missed again. It was like magic, says Yellow Wall founder Andreas Richt.
“Dangerous weather conditions” turned out to mean, among other things, thunder. Sportbladet’s reporter Linn Nordström caught a flash on picture.
Sweden meets the Netherlands in Houston at 19:00.
