Bayern Munich fans escaped the penalty of being banned from the stands when the team faced Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Today, Thursday, the European Football Association (UEFA) decided to fine Bayern Munich an amount of 90,000 euros ($105,000) due to various incidents witnessed in the team’s match in which it defeated Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.

In the final minutes of the match, Bayern Munich fans climbed the fence of the Allianz Arena and approached the stadium’s touchline.

After the German team scored the winning goal in stoppage time of the second half, the fans pushed the photographers sitting behind the advertising boards in the stadium.

According to reports, this caused the injury of some photographers, as the police stated that a woman and two men were injured.

UEFA imposed a fine of 40,000 euros for storming the stadium, in addition to another 30,000 for raising inappropriate banners, 14,000 for obstructing the corridors in the stadium, and 5,625 euros for throwing some materials on the field.

Christoph Freund, the club’s sporting director, apologized for these incidents after the match and asked for understanding. “There was some chaos and we’re sorry about that, but it was a great night of football with a lot of emotions and things kind of got out of control,” Freund said.

The Bavarian club was lucky to avoid the penalty of preventing its fans from going to the stadium in the semi-final second leg in which it will host Paris Saint-Germain on May 6, knowing that the first leg between them will take place in the French capital on April 28.
