28 men have been arrested in an international raid against the sexual abuse of children. Sweden participated in the operation, which was carried out with the support of Europol.
The men were arrested in Sweden, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Poland and Switzerland, writes Europol in a press release.
All the suspects who have been arrested are men between the ages of 22 and 54.
Investigators suspect the men paid with cryptocurrency to gain access to forums on the darknet, where they could download or view videos of children being abused.
More than 460 items, including electronic devices, crypto wallets, drugs and large quantities of doping substances have been seized.
The investigation led by Norwegian police continues and further arrests are expected, according to Europol.
