Colombia’s unbeaten run

Both sides are unbeaten so far at this World Cup, with Colombia combining a mix of passion, pace and flair in attack with a tough-tackling, disciplined defence that leaves little space for opponents to play in.

Colombia defeated Ghana 1-0 in the round of 32, after topping a group that included European giants Portugal.

Los Cafeteros advanced to the quarterfinals at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil before losing to the hosts 2-1. They did not qualify for Qatar in 2022.

Argentina come roaring back in Egypt thriller

There was no shortage of drama when Argentina faced Egypt a short while ago.

Tournament’s surprise package?

Even without Manzambi, the Swiss still have plenty of firepower up front, coupled with a solid defence.

Manzambi injury blow

Switzerland must do without their breakout star Johan Manzambi, who suffered a knee injury in the final training session before the match.

The 20-year-old started the tournament as a substitute for the opener against Qatar, but since coming off the bench and scoring twice in a 4-1 win over Bosnia he has become an integral part of Murat Yakin’s attack, notching three goals and two assists so far.

With just one goal conceded at the World Cup so far, Colombia’s defence is one of the stingiest at the tournament, having notably held Portugal at bay in a goalless draw in the group stage.

But their opponents today have scored nine goals from just four matches and come into the tie full of confidence after securing a relatively easy win over Algeria in the round of 32.

Kick-off is at 1pm in Vancouver, 3pm in Bogota and 10pm in Bern.
