From Oslo to Miami.

After the WC success, it’s driving in Norway.

People want to go to the US at any cost and the airlines and travel companies have to take extra measures.

There is an unprecedented football fever in Norway.

After the 2-1 victory against Brazil, England awaits in Miami on Saturday night, Swedish time, and the Norwegians do what they can to get to South Florida.

The travel comparison site Finn Reise noticed an increase in flight searches of over 1,000 percent in the hour after the victory against Brazil, writes VG. Even after Erling Haaland made it 1-0 in the 79th minute, searches increased sharply.

– We have never seen anything like this on our platform. This is historic in every way, says communications manager Nora Vigen Stabell.

Increases everywhere

Compared to the same week last year, searches for trips to the US have increased by 250 percent. Searches to stopover airports such as London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have also increased significantly.

Even the airlines have of course noticed the increased interest.

Both SAS and Norse Atlantic deployed extra flights to Miami.

– We acted quickly after Norway’s incredible performance and want to make it easy and convenient for the supporters to travel to the quarter-final against England, says SAS press manager Öystein Schmidt.
