Ukraine’s attacks on targets in Russia doubled in June.
This is stated by the country’s Minister of Defense Mychajlo Fedorov on Telegram.
“By destroying warehouses, transportation and supply routes, the enemy’s ability to supply his units with supplies is reduced,” he writes.
Ukraine’s medium and long-range attacks against Russia have increased sharply recently.
“The number of targets that were hit at a distance of more than 50 kilometers from the front line has almost doubled,” writes the country’s Minister of Defense Mychajlo Fedorov in a post on Telegram.
In recent months, it has intensified its so-called medium-range campaign with the aim of disrupting Russian logistics.
It reports Kyiv Independent.
Trump and Putin spoke on the phone
Particular focus has been on Crimea, where, according to Ukraine, the attacks have caused a fuel crisis.
President of the United States Donald Trump had a nearly 90-minute phone call with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin this weekend.
Trump reportedly offered to help find a solution to the war in Ukraine. This was stated by Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov in statements made public early Sunday, according to Reuters news agency.
– The American president reaffirmed his willingness to work for a quick end to the fighting and find solutions to overcome the crisis, Ushakov said about Trump’s conversation with the Russian president.
Ushakov described the talks as “businesslike and quite constructive” and said Russia was seeking “a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict, with due regard for Russia’s fundamental position”.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he had also spoken to Trump.
200,000 enemy targets
According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ukrainian military also set several new records in June, including the number of attacks against Russian artillery, Russian vehicles and motorcycles, and the number of downed drones and helicopters.
In total, over 200,000 enemy targets were fought during the month, he states.
Fedorov also stated that the Ukrainian military killed or seriously injured close to 28,000 Russian soldiers during June.
