People from the Left Party sang “the whole of Malmö hates the police” in the Pride Parade.

Now Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer rages.

“It’s actually completely scandalous,” he writes on Instagram.

On Saturday, Pride week ended in Malmö with great parade.

A video that South Sweden published shows how participants in The left party part of the train chants “the whole of Malmö hates the police”.

Tove Karnerud, the chairman of the Left Party in Malmö, tells the newspaper that it is part of Pride’s history to protest against racism and homophobia within the police and that this is how the message should be interpreted.

– We know that there is racism in the police as in many other places, and then there are certain repressive things that we don’t like. But of course we don’t hate the police as an authority or anything like that. The Left Party does not have such a policy, says Karnerud to Sydsvenskan.

“Doesn’t deserve hate”

The news upsets the Minister of Justice Gunnar Strommer (M). In a post on Instagram, he calls the action “scandalous”.

For one thing, he thinks that the context is “badly chosen” for such a message, because Pride stands for the opposite of hate and the police are there to guarantee freedom and safety for those who participate.

But he is also very critical of the message.

“They do not deserve hatred. Without respect, appreciation and all our care,” writes the minister.

V: Clearly inappropriate

He also addresses Nooshi Dadgostar about what she thinks of her party friends and what Magdalena Andersson says about her government background.

“Step forward, explain yourself and take responsibility,” writes Strömmer.

Aftonbladet has applied for Nooshi Dadgostar via the Left Party’s press service. They refer to a written comment from Jonas Lindberg, member of the Left Party’s executive committee.

“I think it’s a clearly inappropriate way to express yourself. We will have a discussion internally to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” he writes.

Aftonbladet has applied for Magdalena Andersson.
