Baldoni’s wife: “A lot of trauma”
Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively were involved in a protracted legal battle.
Now Baldoni breaks the silence about the high-profile conflict.
– We just wanted to let the legal system take its course, he says.
The 2024 film “It ends with us” led to a reported conflict between the protagonists Blake Lively38, and Justin Baldoni42.
Lively accused Baldoni of both sexual harassment and orchestrating a coordinated campaign to destroy her reputation.
Shortly after, Baldoni struck back by suing Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds49, of $400 million for making false allegations against him.
But the lawsuit was rejected in court. The same applied to all accusations about sexual harassment. Instead reached the stars reconciliation before the trial was to begin.
Breaking the silence
Both have been tight-lipped about the lengthy process. Now, however, Baldoni breaks the silence about the infected quarrel. In an almost five-minute long clip, he and his wife explain Emily Baldoni41, his silence.
Justin Baldoni describes that they have several times thought of speaking out, but that the timing has not felt right. They describe that they have been saved by “gratitude” in the last two years.
At the same time, Emily Baldoni emphasizes that it does not “blur the injustice and the pain that we have also experienced”.
– We have had to wrestle with so much and try to understand so many things – like how something like this could even happen. And besides, it has been masked as a fight for women, she says and continues:
– There is so much to sort out. The truth is that as a family we have had to go through a lot of trauma, which also makes it difficult to talk about.
“Much more to say”
According to Baldoni, “a lot of painful things have been expressed in recent years” that created a “tremendous noise”.
– We did not want to contribute to that. We just wanted to let the legal system take its course, he says.
They end the clip by stating that there is “much more to say”, but that it will have to wait.
– We must focus on continuing to heal, spending time with our children and enjoying life.
Lively has not commented on the settlement. However, her lawyers have described the settlement as “a victory” for her.
