Things have boiled over at Ullevål Stadium in Oslo during the World Cup.

But now it stops – the football party is moved.

– Stupid and weak, says the commentator Jörgen Klem The online newspaper.

It has probably not escaped anyone that there is football fever in Norway.

The World Cup has been a great success and on Saturday it can reach new heights when Norway plays in the quarter-finals against England.

But everything is not smooth sailing.

During the championship, Norway’s matches have been shown at Ullevål, where there is room for 35,000 people. It has also been sold out almost every time.

Now, however, it is clear that the party has to move.

New grass is to be laid in the arena ahead of the ladies’ cup final on September 6. Therefore, the screenings are now being moved to the Frogner stadium and the capacity will therefore decrease by approximately 13,000 seats according to The online newspaper.

The criticism

The decision creates anger.

– I think it’s stupid and weak when it’s been scorching hot there. It’s a people’s party and we can win the whole thing, says Viaplay commentator Klem to the site.

He is critical of the move and believes that it could have been avoided.

“If they had bothered, they would have fixed it. The grass at Bislett is perfect. Could play a cup final there?”, he wrote on X.

The arena issue surrounding the cup final is under the responsibility of the Norwegian Football Association. The move has led to a discussion about moving the cup final to another arena instead, but that has not happened.

The quarter-final between Norway and England will be played on Saturday at 23:00. Tickets for the event at Frogner Stadium go on sale on Friday and are expected to sell out record speed.
