A Brazilian report revealed the details of the heated exchange between star Neymar da Silva and Norwegian goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, the moment the famous winger took a penalty kick in stoppage time of the two teams’ match in the World Cup.
In addition to his compatriot Erling Haaland, the Norwegian national team owes Nayland the victory that the “Vikings” achieved over Brazil 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, after he made many decisive saves during the course of the match, most notably a penalty kick in the first half.

In addition, Nyland caught the spotlight again after getting into an altercation with Brazilian star Neymar, at a time when the match was nearing its end, after another penalty kick was awarded to the “Samba Dancers” in stoppage time.
Nyland tried to influence Neymar after he addressed him with phrases that the Brazilian website O Globo described as provocative, and later, the Seleção star responded to him after he succeeded in scoring from the penalty spot.
The dialogue between the players began after Neymar put the ball on the penalty mark, so Nyland went towards him and said to him defiantly, “I will stop you, I will stop you,” to which the Brazilian replied, “Which side do you want me to put the ball to?”
Neymar calmly shot the ball into the left corner for Nyland, who did not even move to jump towards it, and it landed in the net, scoring the only goal for Brazil.
Then Neymar returned to Nayland and said to him while laughing, “Not with me, not with me.”
Nayland had saved another penalty kick in the first half of the match, executed by Bruno Guimarães, preventing the Seleção from seizing the lead.

The Brazilian national team, led by its veteran Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, bid farewell to the World Cup in the round of 16, continuing its drought from winning the tournament title for 24 years, after being crowned for the fifth and final time in the 2002 World Cup, which was held in South Korea and Japan.
As for the Norwegian national team, which returned to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, it qualified for the quarter-finals and had a fiery encounter with its English counterpart.
The Norway-England match is scheduled to be held next Sunday at twelve o’clock after midnight, Mecca and Doha time, at Miami Stadium.
