Today, Tuesday, Arab condemnations continued for the two bombings that occurred near the Ministry of Tourism in the Syrian capital, Damascus, amid affirmations of refusal to target civilians and public facilities, and calls for strengthening security and stability in Syria.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s condemnation of the two bombings, stressing its complete rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives or justifications.
The Ministry said in a statement that the State of Qatar affirms its solidarity with Syria and its people, expressing its wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the two bombings, expressing the Kingdom’s strong condemnation of this act, and affirming its position rejecting all forms of violence targeting Syria’s security and stability.
For its part, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the two bombings, stressing Jordan’s solidarity with Syria in the face of everything that would destabilize security and stability.
In turn, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the two bombings, affirming its firm position in rejecting terrorism and violence, and its support for everything that enhances security and stability in the region.
In the same context, the Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the attack, as the Secretary-General of the Council affirmed his categorical rejection of actions targeting the security of Syria and its people, stressing the need to strengthen cooperation to confront security threats.
The Syrian capital, Damascus, witnessed security tension after the two bombings occurred near the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism, in an area close to the residence of the French President.
The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the Ministry of Interior as saying that the two bombings resulted in the injury of 18 people, including 4 police officers.
The Ministry added that during their field operations, the Internal Security Forces detected two explosive devices in the area, and the relevant units began taking the necessary measures to dismantle them, but they exploded while preparing for the dismantling process.
