The OpenClaw Foundation, which is responsible for the famous artificial intelligence agent, has launched an application for mobile phones that allows you to control the intelligent agent directly through your phone without using any external applications or tools, according to a report by the American technical website TechCrunch.
In brief, “OpenClaw” is an open source personal artificial intelligence assistant that is classified within the “AI Agents” generation. It works independently to perform tasks on your behalf – such as managing your calendar, reading and summarizing email, and sending messages – via regular chat apps like WhatsApp and Telegram.

The new application simply connects your phone directly with the AI agent on your computer through the “Open Claw Portal,” making you able to use your AI agents directly from your phone.
The new “Open Claw” application also grants access, conditional upon the user’s approval, to all components of your phone and the data stored in it, starting from the camera, photos, screen, user’s location, and even contacts and alerts. Thus, the agent can control all of these matters and add or delete things or even search for them directly within the phone, according to what was stated in the report of the American technical website “Engadget”.
Despite the huge uproar caused by “Open Claw” after its launch and the emergence of the “Mullet Book” website, which is a social media platform dedicated to artificial intelligence agents, many users expressed their dissatisfaction with the phone application, according to a report by the American technical website “Android Authority”.
Criticisms included the application’s interface and design, as well as the difficulty of linking the application directly with an artificial intelligence agent on the computer.
Some users also reported, through responses to the post announcing the application on the “X” platform, that the application does not work even if it is installed and linked directly with the artificial intelligence agent on the computer, as it does not respond to commands correctly.
Some users described the application as an incomplete version, despite their encouragement and attraction to the idea. These criticisms included the two versions of the application for iOS and Android systems.
It is worth noting that the creator of “OpenClaw”, Peter Steinberger, moved to work within the “OpenAI” team and left the management of the technology to a non-profit organization working to develop and maintain it, according to what was stated in the “Ingadget” report.
Can you control “Open Claw” from your phone?
Although the mobile app launched by the Open Claw Foundation did not live up to users’ expectations, they were not waiting for it to be able to control their artificial intelligence agents.

Users rely on a number of ways to communicate with “Open Claw” directly and benefit from its various features within their phones, but without granting it access to the camera and other phone components.
These methods include communicating with “Open Claw” directly through the Telegram or WhatsApp platform, and some also access it through a programming interface and a specialized website if hosted in the cloud.
It is noteworthy that the artificial intelligence agent sector has witnessed the introduction of many new technologies and agents that compete with “Open Claw,” such as the “Hermes” artificial intelligence agent, which has recently become the latest trend in the artificial intelligence agent sector, to the point that the American company “Nvidia” published a blog post about it and its use with its various devices.
