The humanitarian organization (Pomozi.ba) commented on the video, saying: “Support for our team comes today from these brave children, as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s encouragement echoed from among the rubble, and their message carried sincere gratitude to everyone who stood with them in their difficult times.”
This gesture of solidarity carries a special symbolism, as previous matches of the Bosnian national team in the World Cup witnessed strong chants from the Bosnian fans in the stands for Palestine.
Bosnian media reported a humanitarian initiative launched by the Bosnian Humanitarian Organization, which calls on citizens to donate one Bosnian mark by calling the humanitarian line for every goal scored by the team.
The organization announced that in one of the team’s previous matches, it witnessed the collection of 26,000 Bosnian marks thanks to more than 13,000 calls to support Gaza.
The Bosnian national team left the World Cup after losing to the host, the American team, by two goals to nothing in the 32 qualifying rounds.
