Several people have been injured in a powerful explosion in a residential building in Monaco on Monday evening. The event is described as the first of its kind in the country.
Two people have life-threatening injuries after the incident, which was a “deliberate attack”, according to the head of government, Christophe Mirmand.
– This is, as far as I know, the first time in history that something like this has happened in the principality (Monaco), he says.
The explosive charge must have contained both bolts and shot. Another person, a child in his early teens, has minor injuries.
According to prosecutors, a suspect must have left a bag or package in the lobby of the house. At present, no suspect has been detained.
