The police have opened fire on a 35-year-old man who chased several people with a sharp object in a residential area in Svalöv.
– It’s a messy incident, there are a lot of people out there who have seen this, says police spokesperson Leif Fransson.
The man was hit in the leg when he walked towards the police with the object raised. He suffered no life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
According to Fransson, it is not yet clear what crimes the man will be suspected of.
As the police opened fire, the incident will be investigated by the police’s Special Investigations Unit.
